FEDECOM project has been invited to participate in a webinar to present key elements on energy communities and the project approach to support federation of energy communities.

This event in French is co-organized by the Réseau Climat & Développement (RC&D), ENERGIES 2050 (member of the FEDECOM consortium) and ENDA Energie and will take place on Monday October 16, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. GMT. The Theme is “Achieving a Just Energy Transition: Myths & realities and challenges for Africa”.

This event will be in French for francophone speaking countries. It will be a unique opportunity to discuss with experts and partners working in different contexts as a contribution to the debate on strategies to implement in countries the Just energy transition roadmap.

Quentin Donnette from SMARTEN Europe (member of FEDECOM consortium) will present the history of energy communities and will explain the critical role of prosumers and innovation for the deployment of energy communities. The European concept of energy citizenship is an essential component of EU Climate Change Policy, necessary for ensuring a just and fair low carbon transition. With Stéphane POUFFARY from ENERGIES 2050, they will present the challenges of a decentralized approach to the production, sharing and use of renewable energies and the importance of flexibility within communities of actors freely constituted around a common goal. The FEDECOM project will present the challenges and dynamics of energy sharing within and between different energy communities.
