FEDECOM will participate in the 2024 Sustainable Places Conference in Luxembourg from 23 to the 24 of September.

This important event is organized by R2M Solution and R2M Solution France which are partners of our project and which will have the opportunity to intervene in several moments of exchanges.

FEDECOM will contribute Wednesday, 25th September 2024, from 14:00 – 17:30 h CET in the “Energy Communities 2050: Renewables, Citizens, and Collective Self-Consumption”.

This workshop will be an opportunity to explore the great potential of renewable energy production in the EU which could be generated by citizens. It is worth to recall that it is expected that this part could reach up to 45% of renewable energy production in the EU, with energy communities being a cornerstone in achieving this ambitious target.

The workshop will bring representatives from 10 large EU-funded projects, offering a comprehensive exploration of the technologies, regulations, and challenges shaping the future of energy communities.

The 1st session will analyse the critical technologies and strategies that drive user engagement in energy communities with contributions from the following EU projects: LocalRES, MASTERPIECE, DE-RISK, RESCHOOL, and COMMUNITAS.

The 2nd session will address the regulatory frameworks and barriers that energy communities face in scaling up their operations with insights from COMANAGE, SUSTENANCE, BECKON, ACCEPT and FEDECOM.

Zia Lennard, from R2M Solution France will moderate the Workshop and Stéphane POUFFARY, from ENERGIES 2050 will participate in the 2nd Session. Both institutions are members of the FEDECOM consortium.
